Hi, I’m Alyssa I’m the owner and stylist behind Alyssa Cuts & Curls, a private, one-on-one studio in McAllen specializing in curly and textured hair and healthy hair + scalp care. I’m a McAllen native, Latina, mother, and woman-owned small business owner. I’ve been licensed since 2012 and specializing in curly and textured hair since 2016, giving me nearly a decade of experience specifically working with texture here in the Rio Grande Valley. I’ve spent years investing in advanced education through RËZO Academy, DevaCurl Academy, Gold Studios Academy, professional dry-cutting education, and continued study of hair and scalp health. I’m also continuing my education toward advanced trichology training. That experience matters. Curly and textured hair isn’t an add-on service for me or one certification on my wall—it has been the focus of my work for years. I don’t believe your hair needs to fit into one cutting method or curl “rule.” I combine my education and experience to create an approach based on your texture, density, scalp, hair history, lifestyle, and goals. I’ll explain what I’m doing, teach you about your hair, and help you create a routine you can realistically maintain at home. Curly is my specialty. Healthy hair is the goal. I work with all textures—from straight and wavy to curly, coily, and highly textured hair. My services aren’t gendered because hair doesn’t have a gender. All ages, races, ethnicities, gender identities, and sexual orientations are welcome in my studio. Alyssa Cuts & Curls is proudly LGBTQ+ friendly. My approach is holistic and health-focused. I prioritize precision cutting, detox and clarifying services, customized treatments, scalp care, healthy styling practices, and education rather than unnecessary chemical processing. Your appointment is truly one-on-one. I don’t double-book or bounce between clients. You receive my full attention from consultation through your finished style, allowing me to actually get to know you, your hair, and what you need. Cancellation Policy
& Rescheduling Policy
Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment and will be applied toward your scheduled service.
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice. When rescheduled within this timeframe, your deposit may be transferred to the new appointment.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment time will result in 100% of the scheduled service amount being charged to the card on file.
No-shows will also be charged 100% of the scheduled service amount.
A 15-minute grace period is provided for late arrivals. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late and there is not enough time to complete your scheduled service without affecting the next guest, the appointment will need to be rescheduled and will be treated as a late cancellation. If the appointment can still be accommodated, a $50 late fee may apply.
Any outstanding cancellation, no-show, or late-arrival balance must be paid before another appointment may be booked.
